There is very little substantive research on transnational crime in the Pacific Islands so this just-published analysis by Jose L Sousa-Santos informed by interviews with those affected fills a critically important gap according to Anna Powles. The Pacific has become a lucrative drug corridor, driven by cartels, criminal organizations, and local gangs. Regional states and traditional partners must act rapidly and adaptively in response.
