A Marshall Center-supported workshop was held this week in Ankara, Turkey at the Turkish National Police Academy on "Comparative Counterterrorism Narratives: Examples from Different Regions".  Along with Marshall Center faculty and staff, speakers included police and experts from the Philippines, Columbia, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Monday's presentations included "Radicalization Dynamics", "Recruitment Process in Terror Organizations: The Case of PKK", "De-Radicalization Throughout Europe", and "Terrorism, Countering Violent Extremism and De-Radicalization in Africa". The purpose of the workshop is to examine best practices, develop professional contacts and build an international network of professionals to counter radicalization, extremism and emerging threats.
