How do I update my CAC certificate in my account?
Common Access Card (CAC) Login is for use by DoD users with the CAC smart card via Edge, Firefox, or Chrome browser. Periodically, users have to renew their Common Access Card (CAC) when they expire. The process to remove the old card certificates and install the new EMAIL certificate is as follows:
Remove CAC certificate
- Login to GlobalNET with your username and password and go to My GlobalNET
- Click the link Edit My Profile & Settings
- Scroll down and click to expand the External Accounts field
- Click the link Clear CAC login settings
- On next page, click Submit to confirm you want to remove
- You should receive a message that the CAC field was cleared successfully
- Log off of GlobalNET
You are now ready to follow the CAC Set up process:
- Log in to GlobalNET with your username and password
- With your new CAC card in the reader, click Edit My Profile & Settings
- Scroll down to the External Accounts and click to open it
- Click the Extract certificate information from your CAC card link and follow the directions to extract the data
- You should see a Banner message that tells you, Your PKI information has been extracted (your name), but has not yet been saved! – Click here to save the information to your user profile.
- Click the link, Click here to save
- You should see the message that changes have been saved.
- You should be able to log in with your CAC
