On 2 September 2025, the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies welcomed 25 students and faculty from the Bangladesh National Defense College, along with seven officials and staff members from the Bangladesh Embassy, for a professional military education program in Washington, D.C. The program was requested through the U.S. Security Cooperation Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Associate Dean Charles Marks led a walking tour of the U.S. National Defense University campus, including the National War College at historic Roosevelt Hall, and directed a focused discussion of U.S. senior leader and joint professional military education standards and requirements. At the conclusion of the tour, the Bangladesh delegation received a NESA Center mission and programs briefing and then held a spirited discussion with a faculty panel that included Associate Deans Marks and Wiersema, and Distinguished Professor Terry Wolff on U.S. national security strategy and emerging security issues in South Asia. The visiting delegation included military officers from India, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia, as well as from the Bangladesh armed forces and civil service.
